Here's the highlights from the last few months:

I. THE NEW YORKER hired me to do this piece for a
new production of Shakespeare's Love's Labour Lost.
They also asked me to do a drawing of the band CAROLINA CHOCOLATE DROPS
for the March calandar section, but the illustration didn't run.

II. I recently finished 20 pieces for a book to be published by Chronicle Books. The book is titled "Let's Bring Back". It offers a nostalgic look at styles, trends, and events of a bygone era. THE CONEY ISLAND ELEPHANT was a hotel/brothel that once stood right in the middle of the America's first amusement park. And, who could forget Annie Taylor? The first person to conquer NIAGARA FALLS in a barrell.

III. I designed these two book covers for two very different books:
THE BOOK OF THE MAIDSERVANT is a YA novel published by Random House.
THE HOUSEHOLDER'S GUIDE TO THE UNIVERSE is sort of a modern almanac for living, growing, cooking, and storing food for all seasons, from Tin House books.

IV. NEW YORK TIMES OP-ED piece about historic scientific research that
strongly links brain injuries to sports like boxing and football.

V. I've been meaning to post these pics for a while: MY STATIONERY LINE which is published by Chronicle Books. Take a closer look and/or purchase most of it HERE.
Also, here's a compilation of some of ALBUM ART from the last few years.

VI. Timothy Harris Design commissioned this WINE LABEL. The varietal is from Argentina, and the the banners and swirls are heavily inspired by
the traditional Fileteado look of that region.

Here's my contribution to the PENCIL FACTORY NEWSPRINT PROMO
Most of the artists who participated have studios right HERE in beautiful Greenpoint, Brooklyn. We decided to pool our resources and talents to put out a handsome poster series on newsprint. Visit thepencilfactory.org to see everyone's work,
pics of our studios, links to our blogs, and more!

It's been several months since I've posted anything new here. I have managed to keep very busy from the Summer on into the Fall. Lots of new work.
Here's a few of the highlights:

1. Phish hired me to make this POSTER based on a song from their new album. I was given the song "OCELOT", and nine other artists were asked to interpret the other songs. If you buy the deluxe "Joy Box", you get all the posters, a DVD, and more!
I'm really looking forward to seeing the whole package.

2. I worked on this New York Times COLLABORATION with TED MCGRATH
and Chris Neal (who did an excellent job documenting the whole project HERE.)
It was a piece about Bruce Bueno de Mesquita, and his ability to plug questions into a computer program in order to predict the future. Here's a few PICS of the three of us putting the collage together in the hallway outside our studio.
I also did this little SPOT for the article.

3. I was really happy with how this AUSTRALIAN WINE LABEL turned out.
I haven't been doing too much packaging design lately, and forgot
how much I truly enjoy these kinds of projects.

4. Check out this Delillo BOOK COVER! I'm really enjoying these dioramas I've been working on. This piece is actually a photo of a photo-collaged man who is taking a photo of the most photographed barn in the country.

5. Here's a new JOURNAL that Chronicle Books is publishing.
Here's the ENDPAGES that go with it.

6. I really enjoyed working on this ALBUM COVER for Jody Redhage, a wonderful songwriter and musician located right here in Brooklyn.

7. Oh, and finally...the niggly bits... THIS THIS THIS and THAT.

Check out this INTERVIEW I did with Communication Arts a while back.
In the C.A. interview I mention the "creative pursuits" of fatherhood. The infamous
Spice Guys with Play-Doh Eyepatches COLLABORATION is on of our most successful pieces so far. Here's a good pic of Felix with the ROBOT I built for him.

I was asked to be a part of next year's NPR Calendar. It was a great opportunity to try my luck with another diorama. THE DRIVEWAY MOMENT is the phenomenon that happens when you are so completely riveted to your car radio that you opt to sit in the vehicle for several minutes, listening to the end of a program, instead of heading inside and turning on the TV.

BONNIE PRINCE BILLY
What can I say about this project? I love his music. I love his beard.
Working on Fillmore posters is always eventful.

I was really happy with how this OP-ED PIECE turned out. The NY TImes article was about the belt tightening that we all felt during the forty days of lent this year.

I did this BOOK COVER for the folks at Bonny Doon, although they chose to go a slightly different direction.
